pet food bank now open at the pavilion food share
did you know that directly behind the breakfast bothy is a community-organised foodshare initiative?
based at the pavilion cafe, the foodshare offers free grocery items to anyone who needs it. the best part is that it has all been redeirected from shops before it goes to waste!
recently, a paw-fect new addition to the foodshare has been set up: a pet food bank where folk with pets can receive food from the Cat and Dog Home charity. our guests have hugely appreciated having pet food available for their four legged friends, and as you can see from the photo above, our regular visitors Neo and Coco are pleased to have the option available.
experiencing homelessness can sometimes be lonely, and many of our guests choose to have a dog or a cat as company, so providing snacks for pets is a great way to support our community.
for those who are able to, the Cat and Dog Home charity kindly requests donations in exchange for pet treats. you can learn more about the Cat and Dog Home charity here.
a big thank you to all of the volunteers who keep the foodshare operating.
